Final Feb. U. of Mich. Index at 96.3 vs. 98.5 in Jan.

The University of Michigan's final February consumer sentiment index reading was 96.3, compared to the preliminary February 95.7 and the final January 98.5, according to market sources.

The expectations index was 86.5, compared to the preliminary February 85.7 and the final January 90.3.

The current conditions index was 111.5, compared to the preliminary February 111.2 and the final January 111.3.

Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted a 96.0 reading for the main index.

The five-year inflation expectation index was 2.5%, compared to 2.6% in January, while the one-year inflation expectation index was 2.7%, compared to 2.6% in January.

The University of Michigan index is not released to the press, but only to paying subscribers.
