ADP: Private Sector Jobs Up 177,000 in August

Private-sector employment increased by 177,000 in August, on a seasonally adjusted basis, ADP estimated Wednesday.

In July, ADP says 194,000 jobs were added, compared to its initial estimate of 179,000 new jobs.

"The American job machine continues to hum along. Job creation remains strong, with most industries and companies of all sizes adding solidly to their payrolls," Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics, said in a release. "The U.S. economy will soon be at full employment."

Economists surveyed by IFR Markets estimated a 171,000 ADP job gain projection for August.
