People: Orrick Hires Two Former Hunton & Williams Attorneys for D.C. Office

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP has hired Pauline Schneider and Darrin Glymph, both formerly of Hunton & Williams LLP, the firm said yesterday.

Both Schneider and Glymph joined Orrick's public finance practice in its Washington office this week.

Schneider is a past president of the District of Columbia bar and serves as counsel to the district, state and local governments, underwriters, investment banks, and credit providers in connection with revenue and general obligation bond sales, as well as conduit financings, according to a press release.

She worked at the White House as office of intergovernmental affairs-secretary to the cabinet during the Carter administration and was director of intergovernmental relations for the district for four years.

"Pauline and Darrin will be great additions to our office," Felicia Graham, the lead partner in Orrick's Washington office, said in the press release. "Pauline will serve as a wonderful role model for Orrick's young attorneys, combining as she does a highly successful practice with her significant contributions to the community."

"This is a wonderful combination for us. These are terrific public finance lawyers who will complement our existing practice on the East Coast, as well as our more national practices, particularly in airport and transportation finance," said Roger Davis, the California-based head of Orrick's public finance practice.

Orrick was the nation's top-ranked bond counsel in 2005, working on 473 public finance transactions worth $33.23 billion, according to Thomson Financial. It was the third-ranked underwriters' counsel, completing 184 transactions totaling $12.19 billion.

Schneider and Glymph's departure from Hunton & Williams came as former Preston Gates & Ellis LLP partner Andrew R. Kintzinger joined the firm earlier this week. (c) 2006 The Bond Buyer and SourceMedia, Inc. All rights reserved. http://www.bondbuyer.com http://www.sourcemedia.com
