Central Falls Files for Bankruptcy

Central Falls., R.I., filed for bankruptcy in federal court on Monday, according to news reports.

The filing was made by the city’s receiver, former Rhode Island Supreme Court Justice Robert Flanders. Gov. Lincoln Chafee joined the receiver to make the announcement in the City Council chambers at Central Falls City Hall.
