Wyden Elected to Chair Joint Committee on Taxation

Senate Finance Committee chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore. was elected to chair the Joint Committee on Taxation for the remainder of the 113th Congress.

Wyden, who was elected by committee members on April 2, replaces former Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., who is now Ambassador to the Peoples' Republic of China.

House Ways and Means Committee chairman Dave Camp, D-Mich., is vice chairman.

Federal law dictates that the chair and vice chair of the Joint Committee on Taxation are to be elected from the committee's members.
