Treasury to Pay Down $35B in 2Q Refunding

The Treasury Department said Monday it will pay down $35 billion during the second quarter and end with a $75 billion cash balance.

This would be the first paydown since the second quarter of 2007.

Treasury expects to borrow $223 billion in the third quarter, and borrowed $349 billion in the first quarter.
