Obituary - Tracy Lee Clemons, Sr.

Tracy Lee Clemons Sr., a public finance manager in the Virginia Treasury office of debt management, died March 4 and will be remembered Saturday with a ceremony in his hometown of Chesapeake, Va.

Clemons, who worked for the Virginia government for more than 20 years, died of a heart attack just over two weeks shy of his 51st birthday, said director of debt management Evelyn Whitley. Whitley said Clemons played a big role in constructing the commonwealth’s debt capacity model.

“I can’t say enough about how much he’ll be missed,” Whitley said. “It was very unexpected. Certainly very sad for us. He’s left us some big shoes to fill.”

Clemons left behind a wife, three children, and two grandchildren in addition to three sisters, a brother, and many friends, his family said in an official remembrance left with the funeral director.
