Initial Jobless Claims Fall 10,000 to 332,000 in Week Ended March 9

Initial jobless claims slid 10,000 to 332,000 in the week ended March 9, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Claims for the week ended March 2 were revised up to 342,000 from the initially reported 340,000.

Continuing jobless claims were 3.024 million in the week ended March 2, an 89,000 decrease from the upwardly revised 3.113 million the week before, first reported as 3.094 million.

Economists polled by Thomson Reuters expected 350,000 initial and 3.100 million continuing claims.
