Dallas Fed: Texas Service Sector Activity Picked Up in February

Texas service sector activity expanded in February, according to business executives responding to the Texas Service Sector Outlook Survey, as the revenue index rose to 14.2 from 8.4.

The employment index surged to 13.4 from 6.4, the part-time employment index climbed to positive 3.8 from negative 0.7, the hours worked index increased to positive 3.4 from negative 0.2, the wages and benefits index inched up to 12.3 from 12.1, the input prices index gained to 28.9 from 27.1, the selling prices index slid to 11.0 from 11.7, the capital expenditures index fell to 12.5 from 13.8, the general business activity index slipped to 5.2 from 5.8.

The future revenue index fell to 39.0 from 44.2, the employment index slid to 23.8 from 27.0, the part-time employment index rose to 11.7 from 9.4, the hours worked index grew to 8.4 from 6.4, the wages and benefits index slipped to 37.6 from 42.4, the input prices index fell to 46.5 from 48.8, the selling prices index rose to 31.0 from 29.8, the capital expenditures index rose to 21.1 from 19.8, the general business activity index grew to 15.4 from 14.4.
