Georgia's Revenues Up 10.4%

Gov. Nathan Deal on Monday announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for January totaled $1.73 billion, for an increase of nearly $164 million, or 10.4% from the previous January.

So far for in the current the fiscal year, tax collections are up nearly $564 million, or 5.7% compared to the same time last year.

Individual income tax collections in January totaled $1.02 billion, an increase of $143.25 million, or 16.3%.

Sales and use tax collections were nearly $519 million, up slightly from the $518.5 million collected in January 2012. Corporate income tax collections increased $18.25 million, or 710% compared to last year, the state reported.
