Initial Jobless Claims Rise 10,000 to 372,000 in Week Ended Dec. 29

Initial jobless claims rose 10,000 to 372,000 in the week ended December 29, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Claims for the week ended December 22 were revised up to 362,000 from the initially reported 350,000.

Continuing jobless claims were 3.245 million in the week ended December 22, a 44,000 increase from the downwardly revised 3.201 million the week before, first reported as 3.206 million.

The four-week average of initial claims grew 250 in the week ended December 29 to 360,000.
