DC Water Gets New CFO

WASHINGTON - Former investment banker and New York City official Mark Kim is the new chief financial officer at the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority, DC Water announced at its board meeting Feb. 7.

Kim most recently served as deputy comptroller for economic development in New York City Comptroller's Office, but previously spent about ten years as a public finance professional at Fidelity Capital Markets, Goldman Sachs and UBS Investment Bank. Kim has raised more than $50 billion in capital markets, including issuing more than $27 billion for New York City and its related issuers.

At DC Water, Kim will steer the financial operations of an issuer with a more than $400 million annual budget and a 10-year capital improvement program of $3.8 billion.

DC Water also announced a new chief of external affairs, John Lisle. Lisle previously served in a similar role with the District of Columbia Department of Transportation.

"Appointing Mark and John will help DC Water strengthen its relationships with the financial community and with the public at a key time in our agency's work," authority General Manager George S. Hawkins said.

DC Water last went to market in March 2012, pricing more than $400 million of highly-rated debt.
