Dallas Fed: Texas Service Sector Growth Slows

Texas service sector activity slowed in September, according to business executives responding to the Texas Service Sector Outlook Survey, as the revenue index slid to 8.9 from 13.6.

The employment index dropped to 3.7 from 7.5, the part-time employment index slipped to 2.4 from 7.1, the hours worked index increased to 2.2 from 1.8, the wages and benefits index slid to 14.1 from 14.6, the input prices index rose to 27.4 from 22.6, the selling prices index declined to 5.0 from 7.2, the capital expenditures index dropped to 9.8 from 14.1, the general business activity index slipped to 14.0 from 16.7.

The future revenue index gained to 41.8 from 39.3, the employment index slid to 21.2 from 25.0, the part-time employment index increased to 12.5 from 10.9, the hours worked index fell to 2.7 from 4.4, the wages and benefits index declined to 34.6 from 39.0, the input prices index gained to 47.5 from 45.5, the selling prices index rose to 27.1 from 24.6, the capital expenditures index fell to 24.2 from 29.3, the general business activity index slid to 23.5 from 27.5.
