Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it raised its issuer credit rating to AA-minus from A-plus on Sedalia School District No. 200 (Pettis County), Mo.
"The upgrade is based on improved reserves, due to economic growth and prudent budget management," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst John Sauter.
The agency also raised the rating on the district's appropriation-backed obligations to A-plus from A.
At the same time, S&P assigned an A-plus long-term rating to Missouri Association of Rural Education's series 2013 lease certificates of participation, supported by the district. The outlook on all ratings is stable.
