Moody's Investors Service said it has upgraded Pitzer College's rating to A2 from A3 on $78.3 million of rated debt issued by the California Educational Facilities Authority.
The outlook is stable at the new rating level.
The upgrade to A2 from A3 reflects Pitzer's strong and improving market position, enhanced by its membership in The Claremont Colleges; sound fiscal management; consistently positive operating performance; and healthy liquidity.
The rating also incorporates the college's small operating revenue size and balance sheet reserves relative to other A-rated colleges.
