Dallas Fed: Texas Service Sector Growth Stronger in May

Texas service sector activity expanded faster in May, according to business executives responding to the Texas Service Sector Outlook Survey, as the revenue index rose to 11.8 from 6.1.

The employment index slipped to 6.8 from 9.2, the part-time employment index climbed to 4.0 from 1.4, the hours worked index decreased to 4.5 from 7.1, the wages and benefits index slid to 14.1 from 15.7, the input prices index dipped to 23.4 from 26.0, the selling prices index fell to 3.8 from 6.4, the capital expenditures index rose to 9.1 from 7.5, the general business activity index crept to 3.8 from 3.7.

The future revenue index fell to 33.5 from 33.9, the employment index slid to 16.7 from 24.4, the part-time employment index dropped to 5.7 from 6.5, the hours worked index fell to 2.6 from 8.2, the wages and benefits index slipped to 33.5 from 34.7, the input prices index rose to 49.4 from 45.1, the selling prices index slid to 20.8 from 21.1, the capital expenditures index sank to 14.9 from 17.9, the general business activity index grew to 16.9 from 10.8.
