Pinnacle Air Files Chap. 11

Memphis-headquartered Pinnacle Airlines Corp. filed for Chapter 11 reorganization on Sunday.

Pinnacle, a regional airline subcontractor for Delta Air Lines, US Airways and United Airlines, said its filing would not affect daily operations or its corporate location in downtown Memphis unless debt restructuring problems occur, according to the Commercial Appeal newspaper.

So far, no public debt has been identified, though last year the airline completed relocating its headquarters to a building in downtown Memphis.

The newspaper said $11 million in public incentives went to the relocation, including tax breaks, a $195,000 office grant and 500 free parking spaces that went directly to Pinnacle.

Delta could be the sole contractor with Pinnacle once the airline emerges from bankruptcy.

Pinnacle’s case was filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York.
