Consumer Sentiment Sees March Slippage

The University of Michigan’s preliminary March consumer sentiment index reading fell to 74.3 from the final February 75.3 reading, market sources said.

The expectations index slid to 68.0 from 70.3 in February, while the current conditions index rose to 84.2 from 83.0.

Economists predicted a 76.0 reading for the main index, 84.0 for current conditions and 72.0 for expectations.
