Cabrera Tapped for Post

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced last week the nomination of local public finance banker Martin Cabrera Jr. to serve as chairman of the Chicago Plan Commission.

Cabrera, founder and chief executive officer of Chicago-based Cabrera Capital Markets LLC, previously had served as chairman of the board of the City Colleges of Chicago board. Emanuel announced at the same time that CCC board member Paula Wolff would replace Cabrera.

“Civic and community leaders like Martin and Paula continue to step forward to offer their time and expertise to help shape the future of our city,” Emanuel said in a statement. “I am confident in their leadership abilities and look forward to their contributions to the Chicago Plan Commission and the City Colleges of Chicago.”

Wolff served as president of Governors State University between 1992 and 2000. She is also chairwoman of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority.
