WPF Seeks Nominations for Founders Awards

CHICAGO – The Chicago-based national organization Women in Public Finance is accepting nominations for its annual Founders’ Awards through Friday.

The organization annually hands out honors to three recipients recognizing them in categories for lifetime achievement, “She’s Our Hero,” and rising stars.

The 7th Annual Founders’ Awards reception is set for Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the Encore Lounge at the Hotel Allegro in downtown Chicago. Tickets are complimentary for issuers and $50 for others.

The “Lifetime Achievement” award is given to a woman involved in the public finance field for 10 years or more who has consistently demonstrated skill, drive, integrity and vision. The “She’s Our Hero” award is given to a woman who manages career, self-development, family issues and civic involvement. The “Rising Star” award goes to a woman involved in the public finance field for 10 years or less whose work demonstrates skill and intelligence for long-term impact in field.

To nominate a fellow woman in the field contact organization co-founder Courtney Shea at cshea@acaciafin.com. Nomination forms are available at the WPF website. Nominations are reviewed by the founders -- financial adviser Shea, Chicago’s chief financial officer Lois Scott, Standard & Poor’s senior managing director Sarah Eubanks, and consultant Nancy Remar -- and past winners chose the winners from nominations.
