CHICAGO — Ohio-based law firm Peck, Shaffer & Williams LLP has hired two public finance attorneys for its Cincinnati office.

Robert Mecklenborg and S. Samuel Young both join the firm as associates directly from law school.

Mecklenborg will work in the Traditional Issues and Conduit practice group, with a focus on tax-exempt health care projects, economic development, and traditional government finance, the firm said. He comes from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Young will practice in the Traditional Issues and Housing group. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School.

Besides the Cincinnati office, Peck Shaffer has seven offices across the country, including Columbus, Covington, Ky., Atlanta and Macon, Ga., Chicago, and Denver.

The firm ranked 11th nationally among bond counsel firms for the first half of 2012, according to Thomson Reuters. The firm ranked 17th during the same period in 2011.
