Director Leaves NTTA

Robert Shepard has resigned as the governor-appointed director of the North Texas Tollway Authority’s board. Shepard’s resignation comes as the board faces a probe into it past business practices by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but his departure is said not to be related to that inquiry.

Shepard, appointed by Gov. Rick Perry in 2006, said he was leaving to pursue “other opportunities.”

“Bob has been a solid, stable, valuable member of the NTTA Board of Directors,” said chairman Kenneth Barr.

The agency’s eight other board members are appointed by Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties.
