Bellin Hospital Gets Hike

Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded Bellin Memorial Hospital one notch to A2 in recognition of its favorable operating performance.

The action affects $83 million of debt issued by the Green Bay Redevelopment Authority and the Wisconsin Health and Educational Facilities Authority.

The hospital benefits from a broad service area in northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Moody’s said.

In addition to its operational record, its inpatient volume has grown in recent years, and it has no new-money plans through 2015.

Challenges include operating in the competitive Green Bay market and a modest cash position at the A2 level.
