Michigan Lottery Rakes in Bucks for Schools

The Michigan state lottery saw record sales in fiscal 2012, contributing $770 million to the school aid fund, officials said last week.

Officials said the Michigan Lottery raked in $2.4 billion in fiscal 2012, which ended Sept. 30. Michigan’s fiscal year begins Oct. 1.

Previous record sales were $2.3 billion in 2009, according to the state.

All net revenues that are not prizes go to schools.
