Lumesis Expands with Two Additions

Municipal bond software vendor Lumesis, Inc. brought aboard Robin Wiessmann and Michael Vossler to provide expertise in public finance and business development.

They are expected to shore up the cloud-based financial technology firm’s position in the marketplace for products that serve the muni bond industry.

Wiessmann joined the Lumesis board of directors. She arrived with more than 30 years of experience as an investment banker, asset manager, entrepreneur, and government leader.

Wiessmann has served as State Treasurer of Pennsylvania, as a municipal investment banker with Goldman, Sachs & Co., and as founding principal and president of investment banking firm Artemis Capital Group.

Wiessmann is also chairman of the Vantagepoint Funds Mutual Fund, a 40 Act mutual fund company with $13 billion under management. She was recently elected to the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board.

Lumesis looks to apply her experience as a leader at large public and private institutions and her knowledge of business development, financial regulatory expertise and sound governance principles to make operations at the firm more efficient. She also will offer insight into strategic and market directions.

“Her role is to bring her public and private sector experience, to help us in every aspect of our business with the 30,000-foot view,” said Gregg Bienstock, co-founder and chief executive officer of Lumesis. “She brings expertise in both the public sector — focused on municipalities — as well as in building a business from the ground up; it’s a very unique combination of skills.”

Vossler was named managing director of business development. With more than 20 years within the software solutions business for capital markets trading, operations, and enterprise risk, he is tasked with helping to place Lumesis’ product and product offering appropriately in the marketplace, Bienstock said, as well as develop the business.

“He brings a lot of structure and know-how to our business development and sales approach as we grow and expand,” Bienstock said. “He comes to us with a very broad financial services background in some of the more complicated asset classes and more on a risk management side.”

Vossler worked most recently as a senior vice president at SunGard, where he oversaw sales and distribution for three divisions. Prior to his management role, he was a top sales executive for SunGard, selling risk and trading solutions to banks, asset managers, broker-dealers, insurance companies.

Lumesis markets two software products: Diver Analytics, its flagship product, and Diver Advisor, which the firm released on Friday. The vendor has 25 institutional clients for Diver Analytics.

The two offer data on more than 54,000 issuers within the muni market.

They employ analytical tools, real-time alerts, proprietary visualization technology and content-rich reporting to let muni market participants recognize portfolio risks and opportunities, ensure compliance and facilitate growth.
