Stradling Grows in San Francisco, Adding Mary Kimura

Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth has added a new attorney to its public finance practice in San Francisco.

Mary Kimura will join the firm as a senior associate working as a bond counsel, disclosure counsel and underwriter's counsel in all areas of its public finance practice, according to a statement by Stradling.

"Mary will both support our vibrant public education practice and help expand our capabilities in the 501(c)(3) higher education and health care markets," David Casnocha, managing shareholder of the San Francisco office, said in the statement.

Kimura previously worked for more than 11 years at Jones Day, in both public finance and corporate finance with a focus on hospitals, long-term care, higher education and energy.

She has represented conduit borrowers, underwriters, municipal issuers, and registered companies in tax-exempt and taxable financings throughout the country, Stradling said.

In the first six months of 2012, Stradling ranked second among bond counsel in California and third in the Far West region after working on $3.36 billion of bond deals.

The firm ranked first in the nation for the number of disclosure counsel transactions, and third in the nation by volume, according to Thomson Reuters statistics.
