BMO Capital Hires Kerins as Head of Fixed Income Strategy

BMO Capital Markets has hired former RBS managing director Margaret Kerins to be its Head of Fixed Income Strategy.

Kerins will be responsible for continuing to build out strategy products for BMO’s global fixed income platform, which encompasses Canadian fixed income offerings and has more recently expanded to include U.S. fixed income products, including Treasuries and agencies, supranational, sovereign and non-U.S. agency paper and covered bonds, asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, municipal bonds, and derivatives.

Kerins will also oversee the Strategic Analytics Group, which reviews client portfolios and develops investment strategies.

Prior to coming to BMO, Kerins was managing director of U.S. agency strategy at RBS Global Banking & Markets.

2011 was the fifth year that Kerins was selected for Institutional Investor’s First Team of the All-America Fixed Income Research Team.

Kerins will be based in Chicago.
