WASHINGTON — Veteran infrastructure finance banker Rohit Syal has joined Ullico Investment Advisors, Inc. as a director, the company announced Wednesday.
Syal joins Ullico, an investment and insurance company that works closely with organized labor, after a six-year stint at engineering firm Wilbur Smith Associates, now known as CDM Smith, and four years at Loop Capital Markets LLC in Chicago. He most recently served as a senior vice president at Loop, where he managed the firm’s infrastructure advisory and finance practice.
He has advised both private and public clients on several prominent bond-financed and public-private partnership infrastructure projects, including the $6 billion Tappan Zee Bridge replacement in New York, the $483 million monetization of the Ohio State University’s public parking facilities, the $200 million parking system concession with the city of Los Angeles, the $6 billion Red Line Modernization and Extension project in Chicago and the $30 million Ford Calumet Environmental Center, also in Chicago.
