Moody's upgrades Cook Children's Medical Center's (TX) bond rating to Aa2 and Aa2/VMIG

Moody's Investors Service has upgraded to Aa2 and Aa2/VMIG 1 from Aa3 and Aa3/VMIG 1 the ratings assigned to Cook Children's Medical Center's (CCMC) outstanding bonds. The outlook remains stable.

The upgrade of the rating to Aa2 and Aa2/VMIG 1 from Aa3 and Aa3/VMIG 1 and the stable outlook reflect strong and improved financial operating performance in FY 2011 and year-to-date FY 2012, sizeable growth in unrestricted cash and investments, successful on-time and on-budget opening of a new patient tower, and CCMC's leading market share in its primary service area.
