New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office has begun an independent financial review of the financially troubled State University of New York Downstate Medical Center and its affiliates.
“SUNY Downstate is a key component of New York City’s health care delivery system and my auditors will seek to establish and report on the current financial solvency of the hospital,” DiNapoli said of the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based facility.
Four state senators requested the audit.
