CFO Switches Colleges

City Colleges of Chicago chief financial officer Kenneth Gotsch has resigned to take over the financial reins of Columbia College Chicago.

Gotsch will serve as vice president for business affairs and CFO at Columbia College. He will replace Mike DeSalle, who left the post in 2010.

Gotsch had been CFO and vice chancellor of finance at City Colleges since 2005. He previously held the top financial posts for Chicago Public Schools and the Los Angeles Unified School District.

“We are pleased to have found an experienced professional who will excel at leading Columbia’s financial operations,” the school’s president, Warrick L. Carter, said in a statement. “Ken’s previous work experience and history with the city means he understands the unique Chicago educational landscape and will use that knowledge to ensure Columbia College continues to move forward.”

City Colleges praised Gotsch’s fiscal stewardship and said a search was underway for his replacement.

The system recently announced a $479 million, five-year capital program.
