Siebert Brandford Adds San Diego Office, Muni Vets in L.A., Oakland

SAN FRANCISCO — Siebert Brandford Shank & Co. has boosted its ranks in California with the addition of an office in San Diego and top brass in its Los Angeles and Oakland offices.

The municipal bond underwriter has hired Lisa Marie Harris as a senior vice president to run the San Diego branch. She previously was chief deputy treasurer for San Diego County, executive director at the California State Treasurer's Office and assistant deputy director at San Francisco International Airport.

"The firm is undergoing a transformation and is poised for tremendous growth," Siebert's chairman, Napoleon Brandford 3d, said in a statement. "The opening of the San Diego office is another step in our firm's expansion into the growing markets west of the Mississippi."

The firm also added Brian Corley, formerly a managing director at JPMorgan, as a managing director and head of its Los Angeles office. In addition, it hired Anand Kesavan, previously with UBS, as a senior vice president in its Oakland branch, and Steven So, who used to work at Piper Jaffray, as an analyst in the same office.

The San Diego office will be the company's fourth in California, since it also has a branch in Sacramento, and 20th nationwide.

The firm also has offices in New York City, Anchorage, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Fort Worth, Texas, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Honolulu, Houston, Miami, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Seattle, St. Louis and Washington, D.C.

Last year, Siebert served as a managing underwriter on more than $54 billion in par amount of bond deals. It was the 13th most successful senior manager by issuance volume, according to Thomson Reuters.
