November Trade Deficit Increases to $47.8 Billion

WASHINGTON — The U.S. international trade deficit was $47.8 billion for November, a 10.4% increase from the revised $43.3 billion deficit for October, the Commerce Department reported Friday.

The percentage increase is the highest since the 16% jump from April to May, the department said.

The November deficit was higher than the median $45.0 billion deficit for the month that was estimated by economists and resulted from total exports of $177.8 billion and imports of $225.6 billion.
