Morgan Keegan Taps Dexia’s Bennett As Senior Public Finance VP in N.Y.C.

BRADENTON, Fla. — Memphis-based Morgan Keegan & Co. has hired Euriah Bennett as a senior vice president in the firm’s public finance group in New York City.

Prior to joining Morgan Keegan, Bennett was head of the municipal derivatives group at Dexia Credit Local in New York.

Bennett will advance Morgan Keegan’s “ongoing commitment to become one of the top municipal bond underwriters in the United States,” said Rob Baird, executive managing director and president of Morgan Keegan’s investment banking division.

“Euriah is a very talented and well-respected public finance banker,” Baird said. “He has distinguished himself as a problem solver who provides innovative solutions to issuers’ complex financial needs.”

Bennett has more than 17 years of ­experience in the municipal finance field, working with a variety of public entities as an investment banker and a derivatives originator.

He worked in many sectors of the public finance market, including general infrastructure, health care, housing, transportation, and higher education.

Bennett received a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a master’s of business administration from Columbia University.

In 2010, Morgan Keegan was the nation’s ninth largest lead underwriter, underwriting 751 issues with a par amount of $13.4 billion, according to Thomson Reuters.
