Chicago Purchasing Index Revised Up a Tad to 66.8

The Chicago Purchasing Managers’ Business Barometer was revised downward to a December reading of 66.8 from a previous level of 68.6, the National Association of Purchasing Management-Chicago said Monday.

The revision is based on a reevaluation of seasonal factors. The November reading was 62.5.

The production component was revised upward to 72.2 from 74.0, new orders were revised to 68.7 from 73.6, the order backlogs index was revised to 60.1 from 64.6, and inventories were revised to 60.0 from 60.1.

Meanwhile, the employment index was revised to 58.4 from 60.2; and the supplier deliveries index was revised upward to 63.2 from 64.2. The prices paid index was revised to 78.0 from 78.2.
