NAHB Housing Index Rises to 21 in December

Builders’ confidence in the market for new single-family homes improved but remained quite low as the National Association of Home Builders’ housing market index — a monthly gauge of builder sentiment — increased to 21 in December from 19 in November.

Thomson Reuters’ poll of economists had predicted that the index would be 20.
