WASHINGTON — Retail sales were up 0.2% in November after rising a revised 0.6% in October, the Commerce Department reported Tuesday.
The November gain was lower than the 0.6% median increase projected by economists polled by Thomson Reuters.
Excluding autos, retail sales were up 0.2% in November after rising an unrevised 0.6% in October.
The economists were also higher with their median estimate of a 0.5% increase for retail sales excluding autos in November.
Excluding autos and gas, retail sales were up 0.2% in November and increased 0.7% the previous month.
