New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli has named Jennifer Freeman director of communications. She will begin Monday at a salary of $145,000.
Freeman, who has held various positions in the government and the private sector, is now the assistant vice president for external affairs at Albany Medical Center.
From 2004 through 2010, Freeman was deputy press secretary for the comptroller’s office, where she managed and coordinated communications for state government, state fiscal and local government policy issues, and audits.
Before that, she worked as a senior public relations account executive at Media Logic and a legislative assistant for the New York State Assembly.
In addition, she was an assistant communications and consumer information director at the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office.
