Harrisburg Is Not Alone

Harrisburg City Council Vice President Patty Kim said the capital is but one of many struggling cities in the state.

“Our Pennsylvania cities do not have the tools they need to grow and prosper. If Pennsylvanians think Harrisburg is the only city in crisis, they are wrong,” Kim told supporters as she announced her candidacy for state representative in the 103rd District. “Our city is merely an addition to a list of more than 30 municipalities that are teetering on the financial brink.”

Kim, a former news anchor for television station WHP, the CBS affiliate in Harrisburg, will challenge fellow Democrat Ron Buxton.

Kim has served on the council since 2005 and supported the Act 47 financial recovery program that a majority of her fellow councillors rejected.
