ADA Taps Ray for CFO

The Atlanta Development Authority has hired Doug Ray as its new chief financial officer.

Ray, a certified public accountant, most recently worked for the Elias Brothers Group in Naples, Fla. He also worked at John Wieland Homes, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and Carter & Associates.

In his 30-year career, Ray has handled real estate transactions that included homebuilding, development and construction, retail shopping centers, office parks, and industrial and property management, according to authority officials.

Ray replaces Thomas Rowe, who has served as interim CFO for the past 16 months. Rowe will remain at the agency as deputy CFO.

The ADA also hired Bill Cronin as vice president of economic development. Most recently, Cronin was a global business development director with the South Carolina Department of Commerce. Before that, he was with Enterprise Florida, the state’s economic development agency.

Eloisa Klementich is the new director of business development. She most recently worked for the Economic Development Agency in the District of Columbia.

“The ADA is being transformed into a job-growth engine, one that can help Atlanta compete in this new global economy,” said ADA president Brian McGowan.

The Atlanta Development Authority is the city’s economic development agency, and has issued bonds for housing and projects such as the BeltLine refurbishing of an old rail corridor.
