Bobby Jindal was re-elected to a second four-year term as Louisiana’s governor on Oct. 22, carrying all 64 parishes and collecting 673,000 of the 1.02 million votes cast in the open primary.
Because he received more than 50% of the vote in the 10-person race, the Republican will not face an opponent in the Nov. 19 general election.
The Louisiana Democratic Party declined to support any of the other nine candidates, which included four registered Democrats, a Libertarian, and four who claimed no affiliation.
Treasurer John Kennedy was re-elected without opposition to a fourth term.
