Birmingham OKs Offering

The Birmingham City Council Tuesday unanimously approved the issuance of $215 million of revenue bonds on behalf of the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation.

A portion of the upcoming deal will refinance some existing debt while new-money bonds will fund improvements at the Kirklin Clinic, the Kirklin Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Women and Infants’ Center.

The bonds will be sold by the conduit issuer known as the Birmingham Medical Clinic Board.

No other details about the sale were immediately available.
