GEFA's New Fiscal Czar

Chris Jones is the new chief financial officer for the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority. He take charge of the fiscal division, which oversees finance and accounting operations, manages loan underwriting, servicing and financial analysis, and provides program budget and administrative support.

“GEFA and the customers we serve throughout the state will benefit greatly from his knowledge and expertise in finance and state government,” executive director Kevin Clark said.

Previously, Jones was deputy director of the physical and economic development division for the governor’s office of planning and budget. He also worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation, eventually becoming division director for budget services and audits.

Jones earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern College of Technology and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of DeVry University.

GEFA leads the state’s energy, land and water resource programs. The agency also offers financing for reservoir and water supply, water quality, storm water and solid-waste infrastructure.
