Import Prices Down 0.5%; Export Prices Climb 0.1%

WASHINGTON — U.S. import prices fell for the first time in a year, down 0.5% in June from the revised May 0.1% increase, with the drop in fuel prices accounting for most of the decline, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday.

A 1.9% decline in food prices also weighed down on June import prices, which were unchanged excluding both food and fuel.
