Bonner Starts New P3 Firm

Dale Bonner, the former California secretary of business, transportation, and housing, has started a new firm to focus on public-private partnerships.

Bonner’s firm, called Cal-Infra Advisors, opened this week with headquarters in Los Angeles and offices in New York and San Francisco, according to the Infrastructure Journal.

Cal-Infra Advisors will focus on advising on transportation, water, and social infrastructure projects, the publication said.

Former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Bonner in March 2007 to lead the Business, Transportation, and Housing Agency, which oversees a wide range of departments, including the California Department of Transportation.

Bonner helped implement a voter-approved $20 billion transportation bond plan deal and a $2.85 billion housing deal.

Before becoming secretary, Bonner was a partner in the law firm Epstein, Becker & Green from 2002 to 2007.

Traci Stevens will replace Bonner in the interim as acting secretary.
