Six Ex-Partners at K&L Gates Form New Pacifica Law Group in Seattle

SAN FRANCISCO — Six former partners at K&L Gates have left the firm to form a new public finance law firm, Pacifica Law Group LLP.

Based in Seattle, the new firm will ­provide a range of public finance legal services, from bond counsel to ­litigation.

Faith Li Pettis is bond counsel and outside council to state and local governments with a focus on housing, education, and nonprofit finance. She is on the board of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and is chair of NABL’s Bond Attorneys Workshop.

Practicing municipal finance and general municipal law, Deanna L.S. Gregory is vice chair of the NABL education committee.

Stacey Crawshaw-Lewis is bond counsel to public clients and also is on the steering committee for the Bond Attorneys Workshop.

B. Gerald Johnson focuses on community building projects that in the past have included the Pike Place Market and Safeco Field in Seattle.

Paul Lawrence focuses on appellate and trial litigation in federal and state courts for the firm, and Matthew Segal focuses on trial litigation at the appellate level.

K&L Gates, with almost 2,000 lawyers in 37 offices around the world, was the second-ranked bond counsel firm by volume in Washington State during 2010, according to Thomson Reuters, and was top-ranked in Oregon and Alaska.
