MUD Voters OK bonds

Two voters have approved $292.5 million of bonds by the Four Seasons Ranch Municipal Utility District in Denton County.

The authorization includes $138.5 million of bonds for water, sewer, and drainage systems and $154 million of bonds for roads.

Under state law, at least one short-term resident must vote on bonds and on a property tax to support the debt.

The two voters in the Denton County election approved a rate of $1.20 per $100 of assessed valuation.

The election was held and the votes were canvassed by Coats Rose, a Dallas law firm. The firm released the official results of the election after a request for the information by a Denton newspaper.

If the votes are cast before election day, state law allows special districts to close the election early without the use of a county polling location. The districts can canvass the votes without reporting results to county officials.

The MUD is located near the small town of Pilot Point on the Denton-Collin county line.
