Hospitals Ready to Be Wed

Central DuPage Health and Delnor Health System have reached a memorandum of understanding that is expected to lead to a merger that will yield one system serving Chicago’s western suburbs.

The systems said they would conduct due diligence in the coming months to determine the feasibility of their union.

Fiscal details were not disclosed in last week’s announcement. Delnor is a 159-bed system based in Geneva. Central DuPage Health’s main facility is the 313-bed Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.

“Delnor and CDH will be a compelling combination for all involved, reinforcing each hospital’s respective commitments to its patients, medical staff, employees and communities,” Central DuPage president Luke McGuinness said in the statement.

Central DuPage is rated double-A, while Delnor is in the single-A category.
