Weekly Chain Store Sales Fall 0.8% in Oct. 2 Week

Retail sales slipped 0.8% in the week ending Oct. 2, according to the ICSC-Goldman Sachs Weekly Chain Store Sales Snapshot released Tuesday.

Year over year, retail sales slowed to 2.4% growth.

“Overall sales finished the month on the soft side,” said Michael Niemira, ICSC’s director of research and chief economist. “September sales are now expected to come in between 2.5 and 3.0 %.”
