Columbus Eyes Water BABs

A Columbus City Council member last week introduced an ordinance to issue $10.4 million of Build America Bonds to finance improvements to the city’s main water plant.

Proceeds from the bonds would upgrade the treatment process at the Dublin Road Water Plant, allowing it to increase its capacity to 90 million gallons per day from the current level of 65 million gallons. The Dublin Road Water Treatment Plant provides water to more than one million residents, businesses, and industries in the Columbus area.
